Ken Lindner: Practice The Art Of Delayed Gratification

Posted: Updated:

Valentine's Day can bring out the best in people and the worst. With emotions running high, it's easy to lose sight of what's really important and give in to the stress of the holiday. How can people avoid falling into that trap not just on February 14th but other days as well?

Ken Linder has written a book about the subject called "Your Killer Emotions: The 7 Steps to Mastering the Toxic Emotions, Urges, and Impulses That Sabotage You." He shared some of those tips with us Thursday morning on Good Day LA. Linder says these tips not only apply to people in a relationship, it also applies to people who are single or alone. He says the key for everyone is to keep those toxic emotions in check and and think about the positive things in your life...then he shows Steve and Maria ways to do that.

Linder graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University, where his honors thesis was devoted to the science of decision making. He later graduated from Cornell Law School, where he focused on conflict resolution. His book is available now.
