The morning starts off crazy with a foot pursuit of a burglary suspect in North Hollywood. Police choppers buzz overhead. LAPD patrol car sirens scream down Vineland at Landell. It was almost 4am. A woman in a basement level women's gym says she and the owner had just opened up the place to get ready for the morning's boot camp when all of a sudden they heard people talking and making slamming-door-type noises. One of the women calls police.
Turns out what was happening was that someone was trying to tunnel into the corner pharmacy thru a lobby wall immediately above the gym! When the cops showed up a man ran. Next thing we knew we knew he was sitting in the backseat of a squad car passed out. Looked like he was sound asleep! And, the woman who called police? She tells me the same thing has happened twice before. But, this is the first time anyone has been caught.
