Did film critic Rex Reed cross a line with his review of Identity Thief"? Steve and Maria talked to Matt Atchity from Rotten Tomatoes about Reed's personal attack of the movie's star, Melissa McCarthy. The critic called her "tractor sized" and a "hippo" throughout his review...Matt explains why he thought Reed did or did not go too far.
He also says if Reed was looking for something wrong with the movie, there were plenty of other things he could have gone after. If you're looking for a good movie this weekend, Matt says the pickings are slim. Being a "Die Hard" fan, he calls "A Good Day To Die Hard" a bad movie all around and explains why it's a bust even for fans of the series. He also says "Safe Haven" is about as believable as "Die Hard"...only with less action.
The one movie that's a love it or hate it experience for critics is "Beautiful Creatures". Matt says those who like it love and those who don't like it really hate it. You can catch Matt on Rotten Tomatoes Radio on Sirius radio Tuesdays at four and Thursdays at three.
