Man shot in the head in Garfield Park

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A male was shot in the head Monday morning in the West Side Garfield Park neighborhood.

The shooting occurred about 11:30 a.m. in the 700 block of South Washtenaw Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan said.

The victim was taken in serious condition to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County.

No one was in custody as of 1 p.m. and Area North detectives are investigating.

The No. 7 Harrison bus resumed its normal route about 2 p.m. after being rerouted in both directions around the scene, according to the CTA.
