ATHENS, Ga. -
FOX 5 has learned that the Kennesaw State Student badly hurt by a hit-and-run driver is improving.
On a Facebook page tracking her recovery, friends of Emily Bowman say she is showing progress.
"The doctor said her eyes are where they want them to be; her pupils are equal in size. The swelling has decreased tremendously, it gives us so much hope seeing some sort of progress," the post reads.
A truck hit the 19-year-old as she was walking in the grass along Oak Street in Athens on Sunday morning.
Police have identified a 22-year-old suspect.
A fund to help pay for Bowman's medical bills has been set up at Wells Fargo Bank.
