FOX 11 Goes Behind The Scenes At Oscar Preps!

Los Angeles, CA -

Here I am basking in the grand daddy red carpet of them all: the Oscars! I can't quite explain it in words, but everything about the Oscars feels a bit more special.

To be accurate, I was standing on the white, plastic cover at the Oscars. They won't unveil the red carpet until Sunday because, well, more than 600 hours went into making sure all 40,000 sq ft of this carpet is flawless.

My live hits this morning felt like a wild dinner date. You know how one tries to break the ice by asking, "what's your favorite movie quote?" Before long, you've recited just about every great line and you're laughing your butt off at some of the silly lines that you quote on a daily basis. I got a lot of "LOLs" on twitter regarding my Billy Madison quote: "So hot...want to touch the heiny."

But the most sentimental quote I shared was the one from Goonies: "50 dollar bill! 50 dollar bill!" (insert adorable little Asian boy accent). Goonies was my first American movie! I watched in on my very first international flight as my family and I immigrated from Korea to the US. I'll also always remember Dirty Dancing's "Nobody puts Baby in the corner" line because it was the first PG13 movie my mom allowed me see. She covered my eyes 50% of the time, but I was still so giddy that I was getting to see a grownup movie.

I also reference "So cold, Jack ... so cold", from Titanic all the time. The Good Day LA gang had a field day sharing their fav lines -- but so did you! The feedback our viewers was awesome. We received dozens and dozens on our Facebook page page and I loved hearing from you via twitter as well (@JulieChang).

One twitter friend reminded me of the hilarious quote from Friday: "how the hell you get fired on your day off?!"

My morning wrapped up with a cooking spot with THE Wolfgang Puck. He's been serving up star-worthy dishes at Governor's Ball for the last 18 years, so by his 19th I think it's suffice to say: he's got this.

The Austrian food guru has a team of 300 executive chefs helping him out with the elaborate Sunday menu. One of them is Korean, and he whipped me up a kimchee dish. Now that's a way to spice up the biggest event in Hollywood!
