Oscar Hair
I was first introduced to Rossano Ferretti five or so years ago in NYC. He had a slew of celebrity clients including Lady Gaga -- but that's not what caught the media buzz. His haircuts were roughly $1,000! The good news is that his staff all use his same method and charges significantly less.
Check out his Metodo Rossano Ferretti salon in Beverly Hills if you're looking for a sophisticated cut/color -- even if you can afford Rossano (it's tough to schedule an appointment as he travels the world non-stop to operate his 20 salons with locations in India, all over Europe, and is set to open two locations in China soon).
So, much to my delight, this stylist-in-demand was available to share his red carpet hair secrets with us on Good Day LA. He literally spent 10 minutes on each of us tops, and before we knew it, we were red carpet ready.
Bella!
Oscar Fashion
Stylist Jamie Krell joined me for an Oscar red carpet fashion show that ... drum roll ... won't break the bank!
She showed us a handful of couture dresses available on RentTheRunway.com. For 10% of the retail value of the gowns, you can rent them for 4-8 days. RTR will send you the gown in two differences sizes to insure the best fit, but will only charge you for one. You get it in the mail and you stuff it into a prepaid envelop to send it back.
Jamie says you can also rent jewelry and clutches, and some of the renting fee for those start at $10. Yes, please. I've been a fan of RentTheRunway.com since day one. With the all the red carpet events I cover I'd be broke as a joke if I had to buy a gown each time.
And if time is money, this is saving you a fortune -- no time wasted in traffic as you run around town trying on gowns and no dry cleaning to worry about! Plus, the company is co-founded by two smart ladies who wanted to give every/any girl the access to a celebrity worthy look.
I can't decide what I love more: the Versace I've been eyeing on their site or girl power!
