Still Fab! Happy Birthday Former Beatle George Harrison

Posted: Updated:

We are celebrating what would have been George Harrison's 70th birthday on Monday. The Beatles have served as inspiration for generations of musicians.. but George Harrison in particular would be an inspiration…and mentor, to some of the most successful musicians of the last 40 years.

First up to toast George, Peter Asher was with us...he is a three time Grammy winner, and literally grew up with The Beatles...he performed one of George Harrison's classic songs with the Webb Sisters.

Next, two LA radio legends were probably more responsible than anyone for bringing The Beatles here to Los Angeles. The first Beatles show in LA was at The Hollywood Bowl in 1964. That show was produced by Bob Eubanks.

Soon after, Dave Hull joined Eubanks and helped producer their last LA show at Dodger Stadium in 1966…both of them were with us this morning to talk about that famed event.

Mick Fleetwood sat down with us just before rehearsing for the new Fleetwood Mac Tour..we talked to him about that as well.

He was the main man of the Spencer Davis group, and a good friend of The Beatles. Spencer Davis joined us as well.

Mickey Dolenz needs no introduction...he was the lead singer and drummer for "The Monkees".

Sean and Sara Watkins got their start in the bluegrass band Nickel Creek...they were here to pay tribute and perform 'Long Long Long.'

George Harrison and The Beatles made magic in the studio...and our next guest was there to witness history in the making. Ken Scott was one of the one of the five main engineers for The Beatles.

It was the first mega rock benefit show…George Harrison and friends putting on the concert for Bangladesh. There that night…documenting the concert, our buddy Henry Diltz.

...and we have a special treat that we saved just for last.
