WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) - A suburban New York man who was accused of threatening prominent politicians on Facebook is now facing federal charges.

The U.S. attorney's office on Monday filed a complaint against Lawrence Mulqueen of Nanuet. It charges him with making death threats against members of Congress and state and local officials.

The federal document does not name Mulqueen's alleged targets. But Clarkstown police said last week that he threatened Gov. Andrew Cuomo, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and others.

After Mulqueen was arrested on Wednesday, police found a small arsenal, including two rifles, in his apartment.

The federal complaint quotes Mulqueen as using obscene and racist rants in his threats.

Information on Mulqueen's lawyer was not immediately available.
