Car buyers who recently bought a vehicle or plan to buy a vehicle in the near future should be aware of a new law that replaces the state's ad valorem tax.
The annual tax is commonly known as the birthday tax. The new law allows buyers to replace that tax with a new title tax.
The change seems to be causing some confusion about how it is going to work and be implemented.
Georgia Department of Revenue Commissioner Douglas MacGinnitie stopped by Good Day Atlanta and spoke with FOX 5's Buck Lanford to help clear up any confusion.
