Police: Man admits to murdering wife on Detroit's east side - Los Angeles Local News, Weather, and Traffic

She made beautiful music singing with gospel quartet The Daughters of Vision.  Tragically, family friends say Lori Stanford, a wife and mother of three boys, was murdered -- shot multiple times in the family's home on the 3900 block of Bedford.

Police say her husband, Tony, admitted to the killing and turned himself in.

"The world that we live in, it's a crazy world, and people make crazy decisions," said Pastor Charles Laster, a family friend.  "It's devastating.  I've cried for hours."

Pastor Laster says Tony is a musician, and the couple's three boys also sing.  He can't imagine what would have caused this.  We're told the boys were inside the house when the murder took place.

"Any children that have to go through such a thing, it's a tragedy," said Laster.

Sources say the suspect took the three boys to a friend's house before turning himself in to police.  We're told the children didn't see anything.  Their mother was killed in a different part of the house.

"I can't assume [any] motive.  It could have been something that the family just had among themselves," said a neighbor, who described the family as "good hearted, church going" people.

According to Facebook posts, the couple just celebrated their 16th anniversary in January, but more recently, a friend says Lori posted something saying their marriage was through.  Now her page is flooded with messages from grieving friends and relatives.  One reads, "I'm so lost for words, why? why?"

Tony Stanford, Senior remains in police custody.  He's expected to be charged with murder.
