NEWPORT BEACH (CNS) - A woman found dead face-down on the beach Monday was identified today as a 20-year-old Bellflower resident.
Tina Hoang was found near lifeguard Tower 71, near Highland Street, about 6 a.m. Monday by two people out walking, according to Kathy Lowe of the Newport Beach Police Department.
Police have termed Hoang's death "suspicious," but the cause of death has been withheld, Lowe said, pending the results of toxicology tests.
Hoang's attorney, David Nisson, said his client gave birth in January and was facing multiple charges of prostitution. Hoang was scheduled to be in court Friday in Van Nuys.
Hoang was facing a misdemeanor count of loitering to commit prostitution in Anaheim. She was due in court on that charge March 28 at the North Justice Center in Fullerton.
Nisson was representing Hoang in 10 cases, including six that were open and the others probation violations, he said.
Hoang was arrested Feb. 24 and was released Feb. 27 when she posted bond, according to jail records.
"She was very nice, very polite," Nisson said.
Anyone with more information as to how she died was asked to call Detective Garrett Fitzgerald at (949) 644-3797. Anonymous tips can be left by calling (800) 550-NBPD.

Certain projects, such as adding a well thought-out family room can be a wise investment, as they do add to the value of the home. Other projects, however, allow little opportunity to recover the costs when it's time to sell.
