Matt Atchity Of Rotten Tomatoes Talks Movies

Posted: Updated:

Another weekend, another lousy weekend for new movies. Matt Atchity says out of all of this weekend's new releases, "Oz the Great and Powerful" fared the best with critics. Matt says aside from the miscasting of James Franco as the title character, the movie isn't bad and is kid friendly. Despite the lukewarm reviews, Matt predicts "Oz" will be huge at the box office. "Dead Man Down" is a new crime thriller starring Colin Ferrell and Terrence Howard and most critics thinks it's more like "Dead On Arrival". Critics also think "Emperor" starring Tommy Lee Jones as General MacArthur misses the boat by spending more time focusing on Matthew Fox's character than Jones...and plays fast and loose with history.

They agree the end result isn't pretty.

Matt Atchity is the editor in chief for the pop-culture website "Rotten Tomatoes". Matt also hosts a new show on Sirius XM called ‘Rotten Tomatoes Radio.'

The weekly one hour call in show airs Thursdays at 3:00pm.
