PHOENIX -

Phoenix Police are looking for two drivers who they say hit a bicyclist and took off on Friday night.

Although both drivers took off, but one of them left what may be major clue for police.

When police got to the scene they found the victim dead, the drivers who hit him were already gone.

"After he was struck, we believe he may have been struck by another vehicle as well. The primary vehicle, from what we are being told, fled the scene," said Lt. Chris Moore, with Phoenix Police.

As they started investigating, they spotted a Ford Taurus parked at a liquor store not too far away from the crime scene.

"This car just north we believe is the primary vehicle that struck him and at this point we are looking for another vehicle or witnesses," said Moore.

Police couldn't miss the damage to the car, the windshield was shattered.

Officers say the victim, 47-year-old Angel Hernandez-Sotelo, was crossing 7th Street just north of Roeser around 9 p.m. Friday night.

It was raining out and the victim was crossing mid-block.

They believe the driver who rented the Ford took off on foot. They're still trying to figure out the make and model of the second car that hit the victim.

Police are looking for anyone who may have witnessed this hit-and-run or may have seen the cars driving away.

TIP LINES: 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO for Spanish.
