Durr leads St. Piux X past Dawson County 77-55

MACON, Ga. (AP) - Asia Durr scored 24 points to lead St. Pius X to a 77-55 win over Dawson County Saturday in the GHSA Class AAA girls state championship game.

Jasmine Carter added 19 points for the Golden Lions (30-3), who won their fourth state championship.

Ashley Parker scored 20 points and Carly Gilreath and Sheyenne Seabolt added 14 points each for Dawson County, which was making its first championship game appearance since 1991.

The Tigers (27-6) struggled to stop Durr, who is ranked as the top sophomore in the country by ESPN HoopGurlz. She scored 13 points in 15 first-half minutes to give the Golden Lions a 12-point lead at the break. Durr made 11 of 13 free throws.

The Golden Lions shot 50% from the floor in the second half (11-22) and 44.2% for the game (23 of 52), while Dawson County shot 31.1% (19 of 61).
