DETROIT (WJBK) -

Fox 2's Charlie LeDuff caught up with Andy Arena, the former head of the Detroit FBI.  He is now with the Detroit Crime Commission.  The following is some of what he said about Monday's verdict in the Kilpatrick incorporated trial.

"I'm happy for the agents who worked this case.  I'm happy for the prosecutors that put their sweat, blood and tears into this case.  I'm happy for the people of Detroit, though.  This is a big day.  I think it exposed the way business was done.  We can't do business like this anymore," he said.  "We got a lot of problems in the city right now, but this is a block you can start building on."

"That jury did their job.  They really looked at stuff.  The government didn't have it on Bernard [Kilpatrick].  There were some other charges that were hung, there were some charges that were not guilty," he added.  "That RICO was a hammer... I thought maybe they might acquit on the RICO and go with the underlying charges.  When they came in with the RICO, I was saying, 'oh, man.'

"This is a victory for the City of Detroit," he concluded.
