A pro hockey player faces charges of sexual battery and disorderly conduct after police say he groped a bartender while in Gwinnett County over the weekend.
Police arrested Zoltan Laszolo Hetenyi, a goaltender for the Orlando Solar Bears, after a bartender at the Arena Tavern restaurant on Satellite Blvd. said that he grabbed her body parts late Saturday.
"This man in the bar had been drinking and was touching one of the waitresses inappropriately," said Cpl. Jake Smith of the Gwinnett County Police Department.
The bartender and waitress complained to her bosses who called police and other employees, who quickly removed Hetenyi from the restaurant. Police say that the Hungarian native began to fight the employees and yell racial and anti-American slurs.
"When the officers arrived on scene, he was actually being restrained by several people who actually work there at the Arena Tavern," Smith said.
The hockey player told police here was in the Metro area because he played a game against the Gladiators at Gwinnett Arena on Friday.
The bartender told FOX 5 that Hetenyi became hostile and slammed his head against the police cruiser.
Officers say he was belligerent and yelled slurs against several groups, including one officer's family.
"He was personally insulted and his mother was insulted. The suspect was making racial slurs and just insulting Americans in general," said Smith.
The pro team in Orlando released the goalie following his arrest. That team said that Hetenyi gave up three goals on Friday and was pulled from the game.
Hetenyi now faces disorderly conduct and sexual battery charges.
