HOLLYWOOD (CNS) - Rapper "Too Short" was arrested today in Hollywood on suspicion of drug possession and driving while impaired, authorities said.
The 48-year-old man, whose real name is Todd Anthony Shaw, was taken into custody near Hollywood Boulevard and Las Palmas Avenue shortly after 3 a.m., said Los Angeles police Officer Bruce Borihanh of the Media Relations office.
Shaw was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and possession of drugs, Borihanh said.
The rapper, considered one of the pioneers of West Coast hip hop, was arrested twice in 2009 on suspicion of DUI and other crimes in Las Vegas, the Los Angeles Times reported. The following year, he was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor battery after a performance at an Idaho nightclub, The Times reported.
