CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The Chicago Bears have signed former New Orleans Saints defensive end Turk McBride to a one-year deal on Wednesday.

McBride, 27, is a six-year NFL veteran who has played with the Kansas City Chiefs, Detroit Lions, and the Saints. He played in just 15 games for the Saints the past two seasons with two sacks.

McBride has 119 tackles, 9.5 sacks, six forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries during his NFL career.

ESPN Chicago reports that McBride could be insurance for the club in the event they lose veteran free-agent Israel Idonije.
