School evacuated over 'bomb' on wall

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

A White Plains middle school was evacuated after an administrator saw the word "BOMB" scrawled in pencil on a stairwell wall.

Greenburgh police were called to Ardsley Middle School at about 12:30 on Wednesday afternoon.

School administrators decided to evacuate the school in order for the police to conduct a sweep of the school using a K9 to detect any possible suspicious items.

All of the students were safely evacuated and Westchester police responded with bomb squad resources and a K9. The Yonkers Police Department also provided police dogs.

The school was deemed safe after the search.
