Mia Hamm: We All Had A Part To Play

Posted: Updated:

Soccer legend Mia Hamm is gearing up for a return to the field this weekend. She's taking part in the Mia Hamm & Nomar Garciaparra Celebrity Soccer Challenge at the Home Depot Center. It's part of The L.A. Film & Entertainment Soccer Tournament's first annual entertainment industry soccer event on Sunday.

Even though celebrities are involved in the fundraiser, Mia says she's in it to win it once the ball is dropped. Mia talked about her incredible career, her relationship with former teammates, and the reason why she started the Mia Hamm Foundation.

Being a role model throughout her career, Hamm also talked about who her role models are. In her 17 year career, Hamm took home two World Championships and two Olympic gold medals. Her 158 international goals are the most by any player, male or female, in the history of soccer.
