The Atlanta Falcons are making a strong push to sign Osi Umenyiora before the end of the weekend, ESPN reports.
After releasing John Abraham earlier this month, the Falcons are in need of an edge rusher.
Umenyiora finished with six sacks and two forced fumbles last season with the Giants.
The Falcons have already secured two important pieces to their offense during the offseason with Tony Gonzalez coming back and the addition of Steven Jackson.
