PD: Yuma man assaults another with large stick

YUMA, Ariz. -

A suspect was arrested after he allegedly hit a man in the head with a large stick 6th Street and Orange Avenue on Sunday afternoon.

Yuma Police Sgt. Leanne Worthen says witnesses saw 44-year-old Paul John (P.J.) Talario II hit a man in the head with a large stick, causing the man to start bleeding profusely.

The man was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Worthen says witnesses saw Talario run into a nearby apartment building. Officers found him hiding in a unit shortly afterward.

Talario was taken into custody and faces charges of aggravated assault and disorderly conduct.
