'Pippa' From Karma Rescue Now Thrives In A Happy New Home

Posted: Updated:

Below is the sweet letter we received from Pippa's new mom/family.  Pippa appeared on Fox 11 on Jan 2013 and is now in a very loving home.

Believe it or not, I first saw Pippa on the Fox 11 morning news show on the Adopt-A-Pet segment.  Our sweet basset hound had passed away almost a year ago and we had been talking about getting a new dog.  There was just something so endearing about Pippa, so I immediately contacted Karma Rescue and they sent me the application.  Our family was approved to adopt her and I went down to see her in West L.A.

Her foster mother was out of town, so Pippa was staying with another foster family.  When I was there, I noticed that she had a couple of lumps on her tummy and I pointed them out to Temporary foster, who Pippa was temporarily staying with.  She contacted Marnae with Karma Rescue and she agreed that Pippa needed to get those lumps looked at.  The vet said that Pippa needed surgery to make sure that the lumps were not cancerous, so we were all hoping and praying that Pippa would be alright.

Marnae contacted me almost a week after the surgery with wonderful news---the lumps were benign.  We had to wait for Pippa to heal and to have her stitches removed, but she was delivered to us exactly a week ago and we just love her!  As my husband said "She was definitely worth the wait."

Pippa is a sweetheart of a dog and is already bonding with the family and adapting to her new home.  In fact, as I'm typing this email to you, she is under my desk, sound asleep.  She loves to be petted and have her tummy rubbed, she is enjoying her back yard and is going for two good walks a day.  She loves her training treats and will now sit, lay down and stay.  (We're starting to work on "roll over.")  I guess that you can tell, my husband, son and I are so happy that Pippa is part of our family.  Also, we are so impressed with Karma Rescue's help and continued contact with us regarding Pippa.  Moreover, when Pippa was delivered to us, Karma's trainer Cassian brought her and gave us some great training tips that we are using every day.

Since my only recent pictures of Pippa are on my phone, I will email them to you from my phone in a few minutes.  Thanks so much for following up with us.
