NEW YORK (AP) - Overall crime in New York City's schools dropped nearly 25% in the second half of 2012, compared to the same period a year earlier.

According to the New York Post the DOE didn't' provide raw data behind the crime drop. But the department said the number of total crimes was down 24.4% between July 1, 2012 and Jan. 7, 2013.
