Boy, 6, donates coloring books to kids in hospital

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

A 6 years old, Jake June may be a little big for his age, but it's his heart that is truly one of the biggest.

With his red wagon in tow, Jake on Monday gave away 1,800 coloring books to children being treated in the emergency room at Stony Brook Long Island Children's Hospital.

But it wasn't Jake's first time there. In February, he was rushed to the ER after he became really sick with the stomach flu. By the end of that day, Jake was not only okay, he had come up with an idea: sell cookies and ice tea at his father's business, an indoor sporting facility in Bellport, and give all the proceeds to the hospital.

He may not know how to count, but in one day Jake raised almost $300. His parents used the money to buy the books in bulk.

His father, Scott, said he couldn't be prouder of his son He said Jake did it all on his own.

It was a proud moment no one saw coming, and one likely few will forget.
