Former home of Bob and Jane Bashara up for sale

GROSSE POINTE PARK, Mich. (WJBK) -

A 2,800-square-foot colonial on one of Grosse Pointe Park's nicest streets is up for sale.

It has five bedrooms, three bathrooms, a full basement complete with wine cellar and a jacuzzi tub. The asking price: $415,000.

There's also an attached garage big enough for two cars. A garage where police say Jane Bashara, a mother of two and wife of local businessman Bob Bashara, was murdered back in January of last year.

The case made national headlines after Jane's body was discovered in her Mercedes SUV abandoned in an alley on Detroit's east side.

Handyman Joe Gentz eventually pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in her death. "I killed Jane Bashara because Bob Bashara promised me money and threatened to kill me," Gentz told a judge back in December.

He was sentenced 17 to 28 years in prison.

Bashara maintains his innocence in his wife's murder and has not been charged in her death. He was, however, sentenced in December to a maximum of 20 years in prison after he pled guilty to trying to hire a hit man to kill Gentz while he was in jail.
