FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -

A former Flagstaff High School student has been arrested, accused of getting into a fight with a school administrator.

Thursday, officers were called to the auto shop at Flagstaff High School about a confrontation. They learned that the administrator was making rounds in the school when he noticed someone who wasn't a current student. When the administrator told the man to accompany him to the office because he was trespassing, the man immediately began throwing punches, police said.

The suspect then tried to get into a vehicle parked in the auto shop. The administrator thought the former student was trying to steal the vehicle. After a brief struggle, the suspect was able to get the vehicle started and tried to flee.

The administrator was hit hard enough to receive tire tracks on his pants -- but was not seriously hurt. The suspect got away.

Officers later identified the suspect as 18-year-old Michael Anthony Gouhin. He admitted to being at the school and to being involved in the altercation, Flagstaff Police said. He was booked into jail for felony assault on a school employee, endangerment, trespassing, and felony hit-and-run charges.
