Arizona man gets 28 years for dry cleaner theft

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A man who was convicted in the armed robbery of a Tucson dry cleaner and the assault of a customer has been sentenced to 28 years in prison.

Juan Valenzuela and his friend Macho Jo Williams robbed the Regal $2.25 Cleaners on Aug. 26, 2011.

Authorities say the two ordered an employee and customer to the floor at gunpoint before stealing money from the store's safe and cash register. Williams also was accused of stomping on the customer's head.

The Arizona Daily Star reports that Valenzuela was sentenced by Pima County Superior Court Judge Paul Tang after being found guilty of armed robbery, aggravated robbery, assault and kidnapping.

Williams was sentenced previously to 51½ years in prison. The get-away driver, Steven Soto, was sentenced to 15½ years in prison.
