SHARE THIS! The Nutella Caper, Mystery Meats In The US, and Hire A Kidnapper

Posted: Updated:

Here's the news you'll be sharing all day...

Maybe it was a bad craving. A group of thieves in Germany made off with more than five and a half tons of Nutella. The gooey chocolate hazelnut spread was being stored in a parked trailer in the town of Bad Hersfeld. It's estimated the Nutella is worth nearly 21-thousand dollars!

Ikea having to make another food recall...This time it's for lasagna sold across Europe. What's the reason? Well...its moose meat lasagna. And they found traces of pork inside. Moose meat is typical in Sweden... Pork is not. Ikea has had a string of food recalls in recent months because of mixed meats, including meatballs with horsemeat. None of the problems were reported with food sold here in the US.

Guinea pigs have been popular fare in South America for a long time...now, they are starting to pop up on US menus. Much of it is fueled by South American immigrants...and it's being bolstered by foodies who are blogging about trying something new. In Samoa...a politician proposes slaughtering stray dogs and exporting their meat. The idea came out as Samoa's parliament debates on what to do with the excessive problem of feral canines. Not everyone agrees...so its unlikely the proposal will go far.

A little bored? Looking for something to shake up your Saturday night. You could always try this...yup... It's a business. It's called "extreme kidnapping" and its run out of Detroit. You hire them...and they will come kidnap you. Their tag line: "If you don't feel like you're really being kidnapped and your life is in danger, then we're not doing our job."

Apple's announcement of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus last week included a free download of U2's newest album to 500 million iCloud accounts. The free giveaway upset some customers who did not want the 11 songs from 'Songs of Innocence' synced to their devices without their permission.

I had the chance to demo Samsung's Gear VR recently. It's a virtual reality headset powered by a smartphone. Don't let that fool you though. It's impressive!
