SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -

The brutal murder of a Scottsdale family is a crime that has gone unsolved for 12 years. The man accused is husband and father, Robert Fisher.

His disappearance remains one of the biggest unsolved mysteries the valley has ever seen.

The manhunt for Robert Fisher continues 12 years later.

It was on this day in 2001 when a home in Scottsdale blew up. Inside the home, authorities found Fisher's wife shot to death and his children were found with their throats slit. They had been having marital problems. But, there was no sign of Fisher.

He had started a new life on the run. 10 days later, his wife's car and the family dog were found in a mountain area near Payson.

There has been no sign of Fisher after that; 10 long years and nothing.

But then, new clues led the FBI back to Payson in 2012. Authorities believe Fisher could be living in a trailer or an old cabin in the woods because he was known to be an avid outdoorsman, hunter and fisher.

"It just takes one tip from the public to actually capture him, so to say are we any closer? We continue to receive tips and I would say we have received over 1,000 tips since he has been on the top 10 list," says FBI agent Mark Hoffman, who's on the team chasing Robert Fisher. "We still continue on a daily basis to get leads, not only nationally but internationally."

He's 52 now and the FBI says he most likely has altered his appearance. Fisher is 6' tall and weighed 190 lbs in 2001. He has a surgical scar on his back gold tooth.

"The thing that you have a more difficult time changing is your personality and characteristics. An avid fisherman, a hunter being an outdoors-type person and being a loner and a very controlling type."

Hoffman says he wouldn't be surprised if Fisher is in a relationship, but still up to his old controlling ways.

Fisher remains on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted fugitive list and authorities are offering up to $100,000 for tips that lead to his capture.
