Man Sought For Attempted Kidnapping At School

Rossmoor, CA -

(FOX 11) There are a lot more eyes than usual at Lee elementary in Los Alamitos, where parents and volunteers showed up at the school -- extra sets of eyes on the lookout for a man in a van who has been trying to coax kids into van.

"We had one incident with two girls who got away Sunday" says a retired LAPD captain who has been hired as a safety consultant for the district, adding that " after we put out the composite, we had more kids come forward with at least two more incidents."

"We run away and scream for help", is the standard answer from students when asked what to do if a stranger approaches.

Particularly one fitting the description of this guy: male Caucasian, mid to late 50's, with short hair, driving a gray or silver mini-van.

The Orange County sheriff's department is handling.

Sheriff's deputies were canvassing the neighborhood for witnesses. Anyone with information on the case was urged to call sheriff's investigator D. Purser, (714) 647-7063 or leave an anonymous tip at (855) TIP-OCCS.
