Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, Fall 2013

Position Summary: Responsible for the scheduling and implementing of occupational therapy services as prescribed by the (OTR). Developing goals and implementing appropriate interventions for students in ACE. Work with students who have autism in both one-on-one and group settings to incorporate sensory integration, gross motor, and fine motor activities into each student's daily routine.

Education: OTA degree from accredited college, valid IL COTA License

Requirements:

*Experience and interest in working with students who have an autism spectrum disorder

*Pediatric and sensory integration knowledge.

*Ability to work with students individually or in groups.

*Ability to effectively organize time and maintain flexibility.

*Behavior management skills.

*Learn to operate equipment and devices that students may require.

*Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language.

*Ability to work in a team setting.

*Ability to interact effectively and sensitively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Hours: 8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m., (Mon -- Fri). School year (including 6 week summer session)

Wages: pay range starting at $45,396 and goes up, depends on education and experience. This is for school year 2013 and summer school 2013

Elim is a private special education school. The Autism (ACE) department serves over 700 students with autism. THE OTA will work with a team of therapits.
