Santa Fe Springs, CA -

(FOX 11 / CNS) A 64-year-old man sitting in a parked car with his wife and child in an unincorporated area near Santa Fe Springs was shot in a forearm today by a gunman in a ski mask who robbed the three of $14, a sheriff's lieutenant said.

The shooting and robbery took place in the 11500 block of Perkins Avenue near Norwalk Boulevard in unincorporated Los Nietos Junction  around 1 a.m., said Lt. Andrew Meyer of the Los Angeles County sheriff's Pico Rivera Station. Deputies who went to the location in response to a shooting report were told a man in a black ski mask approached the vehicle, demanded cash and shot the man sitting in the driver's seat in his right forearm, Meyer said.

The three victims then handed over their cash and the suspect fled on foot, heading east on Perkins and out of view, he said. The gunshot victim was taken to a hospital where he was in stable condition, Meyer said.

I met the folks from Gunnar Optiks at CES this year and they had something new to show me. The Intercepts. I have a big head, these are big frames, it was kismet but do they work as good as they look? We'll see.
