Public forum held on I-75 HOT lanes plan

Posted: Updated:
MCDONOUGH, Ga. -

Plans are underway to add HOT lanes on Atlanta's south side.

The proposed Interstate 75 express lanes project would add barrier-separated toll lanes along I-75 from SR 155 to SR 138 in Henry and Clayton counties in both directions.

Folks in the affected areas gathered in McDonough on Tuesday to discuss the plans. Some voiced approval, while others said HOT lanes make traffic worse.

The Georgia Department of Transportation says drivers would be given a choice to pay a toll when they really need to get to where they need to go in a timely fashion.

Another public forum is scheduled for Thursday at the Hilton Gardens in McDonough from 5 to 8 p.m.
