Bad Plastic Surgery

Plastic surgery is big business.  When it goes wrong or a patient is unhappy with the results they can be stuck with more bills and more surgery. Revisions mean going under the knife again to erase the mistakes.

Merissa Kirk has a tiny body and really big breasts. 32D.  Too big, she feels for her tiny frame and runners body.  She blames a bad "boob job." Her new doctor described them as "balloons." They're larger than she wanted and one is lower than the other. Her nipples go in different directions. They're too close together creating what doctors call a uniboob.

After eight years, and now out of nursing school, Merissa can finally afford new implants. This time she came to Marina Plastic Surgery in Marina del Rey. We caught up with her again after breast surgery to correct the last one. She got the size reduced and the pockets replaced, and switched from saline to gummy bear silicone. She knew the minute the bandages came off that she looked much better.

Dr. Grant Stevens is known for helping women reclaim their bodies and their beauty. He says he can fix most bad surgeries, but not all.  Merissa is among the lucky ones.

Janice also had breast implants done elsewhere. She came to Dr. Stevens after scars became hard and painful.  The response from her first doctor's office left her feeling unheard.  She says she was told to go home and take a Xanax, that she was over-reacting. She says she never went back to that doctor and instead turned to Dr. Stevens. He replaced her saline implants with the gummy bear silicone and also made them more symmetrical.

For anyone wanting plastic surgery there is the standard advice. Go to a Board Certified plastic surgeon. Dr. Stevens is certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery.
