The Detroit Symphony Orchestra is traveling to play at Carnegie Hall for the first time in 17 years.

A sendoff concert is Tuesday, May 7 at 7PM at Orchestra Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

Music performed will be a combination of the works performing in New York City: Charles Ives Symphonies 1 $ 3, and Kurt Weill's Seven Deadly Sins performed with Oregon-based rock singer Storm Large.

A champagne reception follows the concert for all attendees to toast the orchestra's Carnegie Hall sendoff. The orchestra will depart for New York the following morning, and perform at Carnegie Hall May 9 and 10.

Check out the video of DSO Assistant Conductor, Teddy Abrams, joining us live in studio.
