CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Sixty-five people have been arrested in a domestic violence warrants sweep over the last three days, including a woman who battered a 2-year-old child, the Cook County Sheriff's office announced Friday.

The sheriff's Central Warrant Unit fanned out across Cook County from Tuesday morning until Friday morning targeting people with outstanding warrants for domestic abuse, according to a release from the sheriff's office.

Among those arrested was Alexis Sierra, whose domestic battery victim was a 2-year-old child, the sheriff's office said.

Many of those arrested are previous offenders, the sheriff's office said.

Stanley Lofton, of Chicago, was arrested during the sweep for the 61st time. Ronald Skipper, of Chicago, was arrested for the 57th time. He has been charged with offenses including rape, burglary, and attempting to disarm a police officer.

More than 20 of the 65 arrested were on warrants other than domestic abuse. Jianzhi Zheng, of Chicago, was arrested for aggravated assault with a gun, and a Dolton man, Terry Strickland, was arrested on an Indiana warrant for child molestation.

Anyone with information on a wanted person can call the sheriff's Central Warrant Unit at (708) 865-4902.
