FOUNTAIN HILLS, Ariz. -

A group of alleged shoplifters led deputies on a high speed pursuit through Fountain Hills on Saturday night.

Maricopa County Sheriff's office spokesperson Chris Hegstrom says a group of four people walked into the Circle K at Shea and Saguaro Boulevard and stole $25 worth of merchandise.

When a deputy responded to the store, a vehicle matching the suspects' parked in a lot next door.

The deputy confronted the suspects in the car and the driver allegedly tried to run over the deputy.

According to Hegstrom, the driver led deputies on a pursuit at high speeds throughout the area.

Eventually deputies used stop sticks on the road to flatten the suspects' tires.

Once the vehicle stopped near Leo and Saguaro Boulevard, deputies say the four suspects tried to run away.

Deputies caught three of the suspects and took them in for questioning. Hegstrom says one woman is still on the loose.

Jalen Morago was booked into jail on charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, unlawful flight, endangerment, DUI and additional liquor violations.
