Jet donated by Travolta being moved to Ga. museum

Posted:

ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. (AP) - The military is helping move a Gulfstream jet once flown by actor John Travolta to its new home at an aviation museum in middle Georgia.

Members of 2 maintenance squadrons based at Robins Air Force Base were scheduled to tow the G-2 private jet Sunday to the Museum of Aviation in neighboring Warner Robins.

The state Department of Transportation, the Houston County Sheriff's Department and other agencies were helping with plans to move the plane along a segment of Highway 247 between the Air Force base and the museum.

Travolta, who is a pilot, donated the plane to be placed on exhibit as the museum in honor of his son Jett, who died in 2009.
