Rethinking the Traveling Carnival to Make Kids Pick Up STEAM

Los Angeles, CA -

STEAM is an acronym much of the intelligentsia is talking about.  Science Technology Engineering Art and Math.

This country isn't graduating enough students from those disciplines.  The problem is if you want a job, you need a degree from a STEAM discipline.

With that in mind, a Los Angeles company has re-imagined and re-booted the traveling carnival.  All the amusement games are meant to encourage and inspire middle and high school students to go to college and study in particular, science, technology, engineering and math.

Brent Bushnell, whose father is on the advisory board and co-founded Atari and Eric Gradman, a long time circus performer,  have combined their smarts along with a team from their company Two Bit Circus to create a modern day carnival with a purpose.

Check out the video of a couple of their games including the laser maze and the dynamic button wall.  It's all fun but what the creators what the students to really enjoy is the science behind the games!

Two Bit Circus is in the last few days of its Kickstarter campgaign to raise $100,000 to get the carnival running and on the road.
