Posted: Updated:

United Airlines now being sued by a teenaged girl who claims she was sitting across the aisle of a man during a cross country flight, when he exposed himself and started pleasuring himself.

Monica Amestoy says she even called over the Flight Attendant several times. But, he refused to take any action to stop the man or move the girl to another seat.

The lawsuit claims the sexual misconduct happened on United Flight 771, from New York to Los Angeles in October 2012.  Amestoy, just 17 back then, was flying alone and coming home after a high school debate tournament.

United Airlines releasing a statement that reads, "The comfort and security of our customers is our top priority. And we will closely review this complaint when we receive it."

The man involved with the in-flight sexual misconduct was later arrested, charged and is now required to register as a sexual offender.
