Shoot Some Hoops! Join The NBA Nation

The NBA's largest mobile basketball playground, NBA Nation presented by Sprint, will tip off its eighth summertime tour on Saturday, May 25, at the San Francisco Carnaval.  NBA Legend Darryl Dawkins will serve as the official tour ambassador for the fourth consecutive year, traveling to each tour stop greeting fans, signing autographs and serving as a special judge for select competitions.

NBA Nation is 20,000 square feet of basketball action, featuring full and half courts, free interactive basketball activities, and the opportunity to meet NBA players and legends. More than 1 million fans will visit NBA Nation presented by Sprint, which will travel more than 10,000 miles making stops in eight cities – San Francisco, Los Angeles, Charlotte, Chicago, Washington D.C., East Rutherford, Philadelphia, and Dallas.  Dribble to Stop Diabetes and Sprite are associate partners of NBA Nation presented by Sprint.

NBA Nation provides fans of all ages a variety of free interactive basketball activities and competitions, including the new Sprint Unlimited NBA Experience, the Sprite Slam Dunk Showdown, and a Dribble to Stop Diabetes campaign tent.

NBA Nation offers a variety of activities for fans of all ages, including:

  • Sprint – Fans will have a chance to participate in the Sprint Unlimited NBA Experience where participants can test their skills in Kevin Durant's Unlimited Free Throw Competition and the Steve Nash Fast Break Challenge. Fans can enter to win a new Sprint phone, take home free prizes, and check out the latest phones and offers from Sprint.
  • Sprite – As part of Sprite's Slam Dunk Showdown, the best amateur dunkers in each city will use their creativity and basketball skills to perform their best dunks before a panel of judges including Darryl Dawkins, with one winner from each city receiving a $2,500 and the opportunity to compete in the Championship event at NBA All-Star 2014 to win $10,000. Fans will also be invited to participate in fun activities and exercise to encourage active and healthy lifestyles.
  • Dribble to Stop Diabetes – Fans who visit the Dribble to Stop Diabetes tent can participate in a pop-a-shot challenge, fun photo op and  will also have a chance to win exclusive prizes while learning more about how to help stop diabetes.  Dribble to Stop Diabetes is a partnership between the NBA, Sanofi US and the American Diabetes Association. 
  • Center Court – Home to a variety of contests and clinics with NBA and WNBA Players and Legends, as well as special appearances and performances by NBA Team mascots and dance teams. 
  • Passport – Visit the different basketball activities and receive a stamp for participation. If you complete your passport, you can become an NBA Nation "citizen" and receive a special prize.
  • Measure Up – Fans can measure themselves against life-size replicas of favorite players on the Tall and Short, Arm Span, Walk of Fame and Get-A-Grip displays.
  • Locker Room – Participants can play the latest NBA video games, demo the NBA Game Time from Sprint application featuring unlimited live coverage of every NBA game, and get their photo taken with NBA players and Legends in the Locker Room and have it printed on-site.
  • Instagram Wall – Fans will be able to share pictures on the NBA Nation show truck Instagram Wall by using #NBANation.
