Chicago's Most Wanted: TCF Bank Bandit

Posted: Updated:

The FBI is calling this individual the TCF Bank Bandit. It says, since last summer, he has robbed at least four banks and all the robberies took place at TCF banks.

FBI agents say he struck the TCF Bank branch at 3220 Chicago Road in South Chicago Heights, on August 12, 2012. Less than a month later on September 6th, they say he robbed the TCF bank at 17705 South Halsted in Homewood. The third and fourth robberies were at the TCF branch at 7910 South Cicero in Burbank on October 6, 2012 and again at that very same bank branch on January 26, 2013.

The M.O. has been the same each time: a man walks into a bank, approaches a teller and hands a note to the bank employee demanding cash. He implies he has a weapon, but has never shown one. He then takes the money and leaves the bank without incident. Agents are not sure why he has only chosen TCF Banks.

What they say they do know is that bank robbers often continue their crimes until they are caught. There is also a chance that he will get more aggressive and someone could get hurt during a robbery. That's why the FBI is asking Fox 32 web readers to take a good look at his picture and help to identify him.

The FBI is offering a reward for information that helps to identify and arrest this individual.

Here is the FBI's description of the TCF Bank Bandit:

--black male

--brown hair

--5' 7'' to 5' 10''

--heavyset build

--may wear eye glasses or contacts

--has been known to have a beard and mustache

He is considered a danger to the community. If you see him or have any information, you are asked to call police.
