CHINO VALLEY, Ariz. -

One person was injured and a horse was loose on Highway 89 after a car and a truck collided on Saturday morning.

The Chino Valley Review reports that 66-year-old William Trancik was driving on Highway 89 when he was rear-ended by a truck carrying a horse trailer.

The car ran off the road and the horse trailer became unattached to the truck and rolled over.

Trancik was flown to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The truck's driver, 26-year-old christopher Belmore, refused treatment.

According to the newspaper, a veterinarian examined the horse and found some broken teeth and scratches.

Police cited Belmore for failing to control his speed, a Chino Valley Police Department spokesman told the newspaper.

Traffic was reportedly stopped for a short time.
