Andrea Sneiderman's attorneys challenge indictment

Posted: Updated:
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -

Attorneys for Andrea Sneiderman challenged the indictment against her in a DeKalb County courtroom on Tuesday.

Sneiderman is scheduled to go on trial later this summer on charges implicating the mother of two in her husband's murder.

Rusty Sneiderman was shot in November 2010 outside a Dunwoody daycare facility. Andrea Sneiderman's boss, Hemy Neuman, is serving a life sentence following a trial last year

Andrea Sneiderman's case is moving toward jury selection, which is set to begin on July 29. Tuesday was the last scheduled date for the judge to hear arguments on pretrial motions.

The indictment charges Sneiderman lied to police and concealed evidence in the case. Sneiderman's lawyers claim the charges against her are vague and make it unfairly difficult to defend her against charges in her husband's murder.

During Tuesday's hearing, a DeKalb prosecutor called the defense arguments "merit-less."

Judge Gregory Adams plans to rule later on the defense motions. The judge said the trial is expected to last at least three to four weeks.
