Homicide Suspect on the Run

Posted: Updated:

35-year-old Jessica Gonzalez is on the run, considered armed and dangerous.  Police say she shot and killed another woman in the city of Orange, and neighbors say the two women were dating for years.

The shooting happened around 3:30 in the afternoon Thursday.

"I heard two pops and that's when I immediately came out the front and then I heard two more pops… I didn't see her running or anything like that but I did see the victim laying down over by the grass," said Joe Eaker, a neighbor.

The victim is 44-year-old Jennifer Solorio, neighbors say after Solorio was shot she ran across the street trying to get help, there is still blood on the sidewalk where she collapsed.  Police say Solorio died at the hospital.

Neighbors say Solorio was a mother and grandmother who died too soon and the tell us Solorio and Gonzalez were together for many years and lived together at the apartment where the shooting happened.  But it was a very troubled relationship.  It appears the victim tried to end the relationship and that may have been what led to the shooting.

Several people said Police had been at the home where the shooting happed several times prior to this incident.

Jessica Gonzalez is described as 5'5, 90lbs, wearing all black, armed and dangerous.  Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Orange Police Department.
