CUMMING, Ga. -

An outing on one of Georgia's lakes turned deadly for a Lawrenceville man on Sunday.

State officials say a 33-year-old man was with his friends in the Two-Mile Island chain on Lake Lanier in Forsyth County on Sunday afternoon. Witnesses say the man jumped into the water off a floating raft and never surfaced.

His body was found around 4:30 p.m. and was pronounced dead.

The name of the man has not yet been released.

This is the second incident on Georgia waterways this weekend. Saturday, a 3-year-old girl swimming at Red Top Mountain State Park beach was found by a family member floating face down in the water.

They were able to bring her to shore where she started coughing up water. The Rydal girl was taken to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite.

Family members say they only took their eyes off her for a split second.

She was listed in good condition on Sunday and was released from the hospital.
