SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -

Police are searching for a suspect who stabbed a man at a popular Scottsdale night club early Monday morning.

Martini Ranch was the scene of that stabbing. Just 5 months ago, a bouncer was stabbed and killed at the same night club.

The 911 call from Martini Ranch came in just before 2 a.m. Monday. According to police, a 34-year-old man was stabbed in the back as he walked down stairs inside the club. At last check, that victim was in critical condition.

"It's really sad to hear, because when you break it down what is it really over, over what?" says Bill Burton, who works near Martini Ranch.

There is no motive and no suspect yet. As word spread of the stabbing, people were reminded of the last stabbing at Martini Ranch less than 5 months ago.

"Of course the last stabbing we had at Martini Ranch he didn't survive and he was good kid," says Bill Crawford, a Scottsdale businessman.

Crawford was referring to the fatal stabbing of Martini Ranch bouncer Tyrese Thompson last January. He was killed while trying to break up a fight outside the nightclub.

Crawford says he is outraged that the violence continues in the Scottsdale bar district. He says it's out of control.

"I predict there will be more catastrophic events down here and eventually it will reach the point where it will affect our tourism our reputation," says Crawford.

The violence is already affecting the reputation locally for some.

"You know it was always a great place to go but with recent event and hearing what's going on it doesn't seem to have the same flair anymore," says Matt Burton, who works nearby.

"No if I was to go out it would not be where somebody was stabbed. Definitely not. It's a security issue," says Chassidie Durbin.

The victim is expected to survive. The suspect fled the area on foot. Police ask that anyone with information call them.
