Clean-Up Underway After Evening Of Severe T-Storms

Posted: Updated:

A line of severe thunderstorms moved through our area last night causing trees to topple and power lines to fall.

Fox 29's Steve Keeley was out in Glen Mills, Delaware County, where the damage was evident.

A tree fell on Fran Walsh's wife's car while she was in it on Spring Valley Road.  Thankfully, she did not get out of the car and waited until rescue crews arrived to safely get her out of the vehicle.

Several streets do not have power and residents hope it will be fixed soon as temperatures will it 90 degrees today.

Last evening, Fox 29's Dave Kinchen reported that a worker cutting grass at the Glen Mills Schools was injured following a lightning strike.  He did not get the direct bolt impact as the school first reported. They later said he felt the secondary impact which brought him to his knees.

The worker was alert and able to walk into an ambulance which rushed him to Crozier in Chester. His name was not released.
